Sharkskin
Even on the coldest mornings all I need is a l/sleeve thermal and my sharkskin. It have found it allows me to keep warm in a variety of conditions and the rain is no issue. It can really dump it down and you are no colder when wearing the sharkskin. I’ve also been using it on the surf ski and its brilliant. I’ve hopped off into the water just to test it out and found that it really keeps me warm even when wet. I also use a very thin neoprene type top and when this gets wet when combined with the breeze it can be really cool...the sharkskin is significantly warmer than the new titanium neoprene type garments out these days.

Aqua Sphere Goggles
Aquasphere products include a super comfortable range of goggles that we have found fit almost every kind of face. In over 5 years of selling the Kaiman stock we have found only about 3 people who could not wear them. We recommend Kaiman goggle for both swimmers and Triathletes alike as they are super clear, have a low drag profile although a good range of vision as well.

Aqua Sphere Goggles
I have used the Aquasphere Kaiman Junior for a number of years now. From the moment I put them on I knew they were the best goggle out there. The fit is always perfect, they are comfortable around the eye-socket and across the bridge of my nose.

I especially love the flexibility of the frames, no matter how hard I get kicked or whacked in a race the goggles never seem to dislodge. Being such a low profile shape they dont increase drag in the water, and the antifog lens feature also stops that frustrating fogging. When ever I put the Kaiman on I know I am going to have a trouble free swim session or race.

After trying a sample, our entire team has now purchased sharkskins. We find the product of exceptional quality and perfect for protection from the elements during both patrols and competitions. Whether constantly in the water or in the boat exposed to the surf and wind, sharkskin have become an essential addition to our team uniform. Not just to win races, but to save lives.

Sharkskin
I’ve been using the Sharkskin for two years now principally in the kayak and on early mornings on Lake Pupuke. In the past I have used several layers of Poly pro and a water proof wind proof jacket to stay warm. One of the problems with this method is the bulkiness you are left with and so when you want your arms to move freely they are trapped by the layers of clothes you’re wearing. I have been using a sharkskin vest.

Even on the coldest mornings all I need is a l/sleeve thermal and my sharkskin. It have found it allows me to keep warm in a variety of conditions and the rain is no issue. t can really dump it down and you are no colder when wearing the sharkskin. The Sharkskin top is awesome. I have paddled with it twice on very cold and windy nights, on the Auckland harbour and stay toasty. Good fit, stretch, and was not a sweat shop like a wet suits or 0.5 mil titanium tops. Good length even covered my backup with low shorts cut which expose back when sitting. It’s a winner for winter paddling!

Suunto Computers
To stay competitive with the best freedivers in the world it is essential to use the best equipment. Equipment you can rely on under extreme water pressure to give you vital dive information. For both ocean and pool competitions I rely on the Suunto D4 dive watch. Knowing your depth on the decent is essential for executing a successful dive. The D4 gives has two adjustable depth alarms and records a wealth of information during each dive to analyse and graph after each session. Wearing the D4 I can relax during my competition dives and not second guess the depth I have reached.
On the surface before and dive, and in the pool before a heat, I use the stopwatch and countdown functions on the Suunto D4 watch to accurately monitor my preparation times. Leaving the surface just one second early in an international competition will incur penalties so I leave nothing to chance. With Suunto I have the competitive advantage before I even step foot into the water.
